WWDC is an abbreviation for WorldWide Developer Conference, which has been held annually by Apple since 1987. Since its inception in 1987, it has been held in various locations throughout the Bay Area. Beginning at the Santa Clara Convention Centre, the event progressed to the San Jose Convention Centre, and finally to the Moscone West convention centre in San Francisco. It returned to the San Jose Convention Centre in 2017 until the pandemic in 2020 forced it to close.
