The text formatting tool is located directly above the keyboard in the toolbar. Its right next to the text colour button and tapping it brings up its own toolbar with options. At the moment, it appears that the options will be limited. You will be able to create two types of subheadings: H1 and H2. If you want to categorise your notes, use this option.
