Due to privacy and data collection concerns, Italy has banned ChatGPT. OpenAI has been given 20 days by the Italian data protection authority to address its issues.
Even though generative AIs like ChatGPT and Bard are all the rage, there are legitimate worries about the spread of false information and how they handle user privacy. ChatGPT has now been outright forbidden in one western country.
On Friday, ChatGPT was immediately blocked by the Italian data protection authority. The regulator declared that due to privacy concerns, it would investigate and ban OpenAI. Since it first launched, ChatGPT has had millions of users. Following its billion-dollar investment in OpenAI, Microsoft has also made significant AI investments.
