WhatsApp is one of the best Android communication apps. It is used by over a billion people daily to send billions of messages. Sharing cat and dog videos, memes, funny video clips, and GIFs with friends and family is one example. While WhatsApp has long supported GIF sharing, there is an odd quirk: you must tap on the GIF to begin playing it.
This restriction is reasonable for videos, but GIFs lose their utility in a conversation if they do not animate automatically. Fortunately, this may change in the near future. According to the report, WhatsApp has enabled automatic GIF playback in conversations for selected beta testers of its app.
