The Artificial Intelligence and Data Act (AIDA) requires AI system assessments, risk management, monitoring, data anonymization, transparency, and record-keeping. AIDA would also impose penalties of up to 3% of a company’s global revenue, or $10 million, whichever is greater. Therefore, when these facts are combined with Bard’s widespread availability, it appears that Google is attempting to avoid hefty fines and is attempting to get its regulatory ducks in a row.
