Microsoft bet big on AI with the “new Bing,” and the gamble appears to have paid off, with Bing gaining new users while Google sees a slight decline. Since the launch of its GPT-4-powered “new Bing” chat experience, Microsoft has seen a 16% increase in page visits to Bing. The “co-pilot” appears to be attracting a significant number of new users, as Microsoft confirmed earlier this month that Bing had surpassed 100 million active users for the first time.
The 15.8% increase in page visits since Microsoft’s February 7 launch of the “new Bing” shows that Microsoft is making progress in its goal of luring users away from Google’s search dominance. Google’s numbers are reportedly down, with a 1% drop over the same time period.
