Google and Apple have collaborated to develop a draught specification for notifications of unwanted Bluetooth tracking. The companies want a universal notification system that alerts users if they are being tracked on both iOS and Android.
Both organisations are also seeking assistance and feedback on the specification from other industry thought leaders and charitable organisations. The two companies want there to be industry-wide standards for any company that creates or wants to create Bluetooth trackers. Samsung, Tile, Chipolo, eufy Security, and Pebblebee have all expressed interest in the concept.
