Smart Compose in Gmail and Google Docs makes it “easier for you to write high-quality emails and content faster.” It will now be available in Google Chat to “assist you in communicating with colleagues faster in order to move conversations or projects forward more effectively.”
As you type, suggestions will appear that frequently complete the sentence (complete with punctuation). To accept the offered text, press the Tab key. Smart Compose will join contextual Smart Replies and will support English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian at launch. It’s odd that this is being released first on the web rather than mobile.
