The most recent stable update for Google Chrome on Android added a feature that displays previous search queries as shortcuts with magnifying glass icons and the query text underneath them. Tapping on the appropriate icon takes the user to the Google Search results page for the specific query.
Users can also remove such search query icons from their New Tab page by long pressing on the icon and selecting Remove Search Query. When the icon is removed, it is replaced by the favicon of a frequently visited website. Google is also widely speculated to be working on a feature that would allow Android users to clear their browsing history for the previous 15 minutes as part of a quick delete option.
