Google Chrome browser has plenty of features to help you focus and improve productivity, and recent versions have made an effort to streamline things a bit. One significant change is that the downloads counter has moved from the bottom bar to a drop-down menu next to the address bar, similar to Microsoft Edge. Google Chrome is now testing a toggle that allows you to disable pop-ups for completed downloads as part of its grand 2023 redesign.
To keep the current default behaviour, keep this toggle turned on under the overflow menu > Settings > Downloads. Switching disables the pop-ups, leaving only a coloured Downloads icon to indicate successful completion.
