Project Fi was the name given to Google’s wireless carrier. It was then renamed Google Fi. Today, however, it receives another subtle rebranding as Google Fi Wireless.
The new Google Fi the same as the old Google Fi gets a new logo as well. Instead of the four bars that comprise the word “Fi,” the four bars are laid out in a Wi-Fi connectivity signal that has been turned on its side. Google is introducing a new benefit to the Simply Unlimited plan. Starting today, compatible smartwatches (those with LTE support) can receive free wireless service from Google Fi Wireless. That means you can leave your phone at home and stay connected through your watch without spending any additional money. This obviously requires an active Simply Unlimited plan.
