Chrome is now able to convert PDFs, which are basically images, into text. This OCR capability will be particularly useful for screen readers and will complement the upcoming Reading Mode. Both will be available in the coming months. Google Meet will soon be able to pair a tile with “someone else’s so that if either of you speaks, you’re both highlighted.” Co-presenting is one of the intended use cases, as is making meetings “more inclusive when using voice or sign-language interpreters.
