Google has been accused of training its AI chatbot Bard without permission on data from OpenAI’s ChatGPT. In the generative AI space, OpenAI and Google are direct competitors. Microsoft’s large investment in OpenAI, as well as the rapid integration of GPT into its products, has left Google scrambling to bring its own AI-powered chatbot Bard to market.
Given that Google has spent years fostering AI research, an accusation that it stole ChatGPT data could harm the company’s reputation. Bard is not based on ChatGPT data, according to Google.
