The new Bing Chat powered by AI will now include ads when searching for answers. According to Microsoft, ads will be variable in nature, so different users may see different types of Ads. The Company also wants to drive traffic to publishers who supply Bing with responses via rich captions. It’s an unavoidable result of Bing’s 100 million and growing daily active users since the launch of ChatGPT-powered AI features.
According to Microsoft, it is exploring the placement of ads in the chat experience in order to share ad revenue with partners whose content contributed to the chat response. While it’s clear that Microsoft intends to monetize Bing’s new AI chat experience with advertisements, we don’t know how the company intends to handle ad volumes.
