Monster Hunter will be Niantic’s next franchise to get the AR treatment. Monster Hunter Now’s premise checks all the boxes for a Niantic game. You’ll explore a real-world map, collect useful items, and collaborate with others to complete an objective.
Monster battles are, unsurprisingly, the focus of Monster Hunter Now, and they sound similar in concept to Pokemon Go’s raids, but more frequent and faster. The maximum battle time will be 75 seconds, which will keep you from becoming bogged down in virtual combat. Monster Hunter Now is set to release in September 2023.
