The page was last updated on April 27th of this year. “Support for Chromecast (1st gen) has ended,” it said, “which means these devices will no longer receive software or security updates.” Not only have that, but Google will no longer provided technical support for these devices. This does not mean you will be unable to use your device. It can still be used to stream content from compatible apps. Nevertheless, the organisation warns that performance will suffer as a result.
