In May of this year, WhatsApp introduced the chat lock feature. A chat can be locked from the contact’s information page. Once locked, the chat will no longer appear in the main feed, i.e. the Chats tab. The app separates locked conversations into their own section, which you can access by pulling down the feed and entering your phone’s PIN or fingerprint authentication.
