Emoji have become the de facto standard for conveying emotions in conversations (and wallpapers) without the use of words. We now have a sufficient selection of emoji to choose from thanks to the Unicode Consortium, the organisation dedicated to maintaining the international standard for symbols used in conversations. The catalogue grows year after year, and this year’s draught, which includes 108 new emoji, is now being considered.
