OxygenOS 16.0.8.300: Dual Bluetooth Audio Hits OnePlus 12 & 13R

OnePlus is continuing the expansion of its dual Bluetooth audio streaming feature with a new OxygenOS update for two more devices. OxygenOS 16.0.8.300 is currently rolling out in India for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 13R, with Europe and North America expected to receive the update in the coming days.

The update follows the previous OxygenOS release that brought dual Bluetooth audio to the OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13S. The feature is now expanding to the next tier down the lineup – and the inclusion of the 2023 OnePlus 12 alongside the newer OnePlus 13R is the notable detail here, suggesting OnePlus intends to push the feature across a wider device range than initially expected.

Dual Bluetooth Audio – What It Actually Does

The dual Bluetooth audio feature allows an OnePlus phone to simultaneously stream the same audio feed to two separate pairs of Bluetooth earphones. Each connected device gets its own independent volume controls, meaning two people can listen to the same music or movie at whatever volume suits them individually.

The practical use case is straightforward: sharing audio with someone else without the awkward single-earbud arrangement that has been the only alternative until now. Watching a film together on a phone, sharing a playlist on a commute, or simply letting someone listen to what you are hearing – all of these scenarios now work with two complete wireless listening setups rather than one.

The feature is enabled through the Bluetooth settings menu when two compatible devices are connected. Each connected pair appears as a separate volume slider in the audio output panel. No third-party app or workaround is required – the streaming is handled at the system level through OxygenOS.

Everything Else in OxygenOS 16.0.8.300

Lunar Data in the Weather App

The Weather app receives a meaningful addition for users who track natural cycles or plan outdoor activities around moonlight. Moonrise time, moonset time, and current lunar phase information now appear on the Weather app’s home screen – viewable at a glance alongside the standard temperature and forecast data. This is a quality-of-life addition that weather apps have offered inconsistently across Android, and having it baked into OxygenOS’s own Weather app removes the need for a third-party alternative for users who want this information.

Outdoor Mode App Pinning

Outdoor Mode – OnePlus’s display and interaction profile designed for bright sunlight conditions – gains a new capability in this update. Users can now pin frequently used apps to the bottom status bar when Outdoor Mode is active, providing faster access to the apps most relevant to outdoor use without navigating through the full launcher. The addition is particularly useful for navigation, fitness tracking, camera, and communication apps that are typically the focus during outdoor activity.

2K Game Screenshots via Game Capture

The Game Capture tool inside OnePlus’s Game Assistant can now capture screenshots at 2K resolution. Previously limited to 1080p capture, the upgrade to 2K means game screenshots retain significantly more detail – relevant for users who share gameplay screenshots on social platforms or use captures for streaming thumbnail creation. Game Capture is accessed by swiping from the edge during active gameplay to open the Game Assistant overlay.

June 2026 Android Security Patch

The update includes the June 2026 Android security patch, covering the vulnerability fixes released in Google’s June bulletin including the critical Framework privilege escalation fix detailed in our June 2026 security patch coverage. Applying this update is recommended for all eligible OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 13R owners regardless of interest in the feature additions.

Which OnePlus Devices Have Dual Bluetooth Audio Now

The current rollout covers two generations of the feature’s expansion:

Wave 1 (previous update): OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13S

Wave 2 (OxygenOS 16.0.8.300): OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 12

The OnePlus 12R is the most likely next candidate based on the pattern. The OnePlus 11 and the Nord lineup are not expected to receive the feature based on OnePlus’s current rollout trajectory, though the company has not made a formal statement about older device eligibility.

How to Get the Update

The OxygenOS 16.0.8.300 rollout is staged and currently live in India. European and North American devices are expected to receive the OTA within days.

To check manually: Settings → System and Updates → Software Update.

With staged rollouts, delivery can take anywhere from a couple of days to a week from the initial regional availability date. If the update does not appear, check again the following day – the rollout will reach your device as OnePlus expands the distribution wave.
